Several roads in ||Kharas Region were damaged due to heavy rainfall and flooding, on Sunday.
As a result, the Roads Agency (RA) in Namibia, temporarily closed them.
Motorists are therefore advised to proceed with caution and utilize the designated alternative routes when travelling on affected roads.
The RA said it is actively monitoring affected areas and will undertake necessary assessments and repairs when conditions permit.
1. District Road 205 (DR205)-DR269 to DR204
Alternative Route(s): Use Trunk Road TR0301 from Ariamsvlei to Grünau; and proceed with Trunk Road (TR0102) then to Main Road (MR26) towards North of Ariamsvlei and vice versa.
2. District Road 269 (DR269)-North of Ariamsvlei
Alternative Route(s): Use Trunk Road (TR0301) from Ariamsvlei to Grünau; and proceed with T0102 then to Main Road (MR26) towards North of Ariamsvlei and vice versa.
3. Main Road 25 (MR25)-Karasburg towards Aroab, from kilometre 80 to kilometre 117
Alternative Route(s): Use Trunk Road 0301 (T0301) from Karasburg to Grünau; and
Proceed via Trunk Road 1002 (T0102) then to Main Road 26 (MR26) towards the Aroab area and vice versa.
4. District Road 462 (DR462) -TR4/1 to DR463
Alternative Route(s): Use Trunk Road 0401 (T0401) from Keetmanshoop to Goageb; and proceed with a portion of District Road 463 (from T0401 to DR462) and vice versa. To be used by 4×4 vehicles only.
5. District Road 463 (DR463) – South of Bethanie (from DR462 to MR118)
Alternative Route(s): Use Trunk Road 0401 (TR0401) from Keetmanshoop to Aus; and proceed with Main Road 118 (MR118) towards North of Rosh Pinah and vice versa.
6. District Road 459 (DR459) – Goageb towards North of Rosh Pinah
Alternative Route(s): Use Trunk Road 0402 (TR0401) from Keetmanshoop to Aus; and Proceed via Main Road 118 (MR118) towards North of Rosh Pinah and vice versa.
7. District Road 417: M0031-D0421 (65km)
No alternative routes are available.
