Emergency services (EMS) are battling a fire that broke out on EP Malan Street , in Pomona, East of Johannesburg.
Although several organisations responded to the fire, motorists are urged to avoid the area, to allow for EMS vehicles only.
It is unclear how the fire, started, but videos shared on social media, show the informal area engulfed in a huge bellow of smoke.
The area, also known as “KwaMax” was flattened by a fire in September 2019.
