The Passenger Railway Agency (PRASA) achieved an overall performance level of 93%, up from 87% in the previous year.
There was an income of R708 million, in the 2024/2025 financial year.
The company also received an Unqualified Audit Opinion from the Auditor-General for the first time in nine years.
In highlights shared this week, PRASA said its rail recovery is on track, with 35 of 40 service lines now back in operation and over 77 million passenger journeys delivered.

It is testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees across every region and division. It reflects the discipline, resilience, and teamwork that have gone into turning the tide at PRASA.”
There were 929 reported security related incidents in the current financial year, down from 1,450.
In addition, capital spending for the period under review is at R21 billion, exceeding the annual budget allocation of R11.6.
The company’s flagship project, to deliver 1 Megawatt (MW) from a PV rooftop plant at Durban Station, is now in construction.
