The Buffalo City Municipality invested more than R17.2 million in a newly built Ntabozuko Fire Station.
The station is expected to expand Ntabozuko Corridor and surrounding communities.
The station has multiple apparatus bays to accommodate firefighting fleet, including specialised emergency vehicles and newly procured 9,000-litre water tanker units.
It also has administrative offices, training facilities, accommodation and amenities for firefighters, backup power systems and water infrastructure.
Speaking at the launch, Princess Faku, Executive Mayor, said “today is not simply about opening a new building. It is about investing in the safety,dignity and future of our communities. It is about ensuring that when disaster strikes, help is never too far away.”
