A fire at the Kennedy Road Informal Settlement in eThekwini, has left about 217 people, without homes.
Authorities say the fire broke out at around 2pm and flattened 117 informal homes.
Gugu Sisilana, the City of eThekwini’s Spokesperson, said no casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire is unknown.
Humanitarian organisation (Gift of the Givers), is onsite providing emergency relief, including food, blankets, and other essentials.
Displaced families have found temporary refuge with neighbours, friends and relatives.
