The Moses Kotane Local Municipality has intensified its revenue collection campaign, starting with businesses in the Mogwase area, on Wednesday, this week.
Mzwandile Mkhize, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), of the Municipality, said the campaign aims to collect money for Municipal services such as water, sanitation, waste removal and property rates.
“We need to increase our revenue collection, to enable sustained service delivery. When businesses and residents don’t meet their municipal obligations, our operations suffer. This directly affects service delivery to the very same communities we serve” said Mkhize.
He also said the campaign forms part of a broader financial recovery plan, aligned with the municipality’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Medium-Term Revenue and Expenditure Framework (MTREF).
“We encourage all consumers to come forward and make payment arrangements where necessary. We remain open to engagements and settlements. We understand the financial strain faced by some residents and businesses.”
