The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has released a warning against damaging winds, in the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, for Wednesday, this week.
Strong wind is expected to lead to localized damage to settlements, both formal and informal.
As a result, SAWS said there is also a risk of localised runaway fires, expected over the central and eastern parts of the Northern Cape.
Similarly, there is a warning against conditions that could propel fire.
This is over the western parts of both the Free State and North West, the northern parts of the Northern Cape, the north-eastern parts of the Western Cape, as well as parts of the Limpopo Valley.
