Nelson Mandela Bay
Water supply zones have stabilised, in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, despite critically low reservoir levels at some areas.
The Metro confirmed that the Chelsea Reservoir remains critically low at 8%.
Similarly, other reservoirs that are running dry are the Upper Lovemore Tanks (0%), Rosedale (0%), Bloemendal (0%), McNaughton (3%), Lovemore Heights (5%), KwaNobuhle 2 (5%), Kabah Circular (8%), Driftsands (9%), Gelvandale (11%), Malabar (10%), Kabah Rectangular (16%), the Emerald Hill (18%), Strandale (19%), Glendenning Reservoir (19%), Bethelsdorp (20%), the Airport (20%) and Motherwell (21%).
Clanwilliam
The Cedeberg Municipality said reservoirs are just over 50% full.
This follows the flushing of the reticulation system following a storm, back in May.
Despite this, the Municipality urged water users not to use tap water due to poor quality.
“Do not drink or cook with it. Use for domestic purposes only until colour and sediment clears.”
The Municipality sad it has availed water trucks, to supply residents.
Johannesburg
Although most reservoirs are supplying fairly, some remain constrained, such as the Brixton 1 reservoir.
Johannesburg Water (JW) confirmed a decline in the storage levels of the Brixton2 complex.
JW also said Hursthill 1 and 2 have constrained capacity.
