There were at least two house fires overnight.
A house fire in Sebokeng, Zone 12, claimed the life of a mother and her three children, in the early hours of Saturday.
Members of SCP Private Search and Rescue, as well as firefighters from Joburg’s emergency services, contained a structural fire on Princess Avenue, in Windsor East.
The cause of that fire is unknown.
Robert Mulaudzi, Spokesperson of the City of Joburg’s emergency services (EMS) urged residents to exercise caution when using heating devices such as Heaters/Braizers or Imbaula/Paraffin Stoves/Candles.
