Four Eskom employees and a contractor’s security guard were arrested for theft of heavy fuel oil at Camden Power Station.
The 4, allegedly stole heavy fuel oil valued at R500 000 from the Camden Power Station.
Daphne Mokwena, Spokesperson of Eskom, said on Wednesday, the 21at August, the accused were charged and detained at Ermelo Police Station.
She said the initial arrests occurred on Friday, 10 August 2024, at midnight, when two Eskom
Weighbridge Operators were arrested for
colluding in the theft.
Two more Eskom employees were arrested, a Weighbridge Operator and a Control Room Operator as well as a contractor’s security guard.
All the accused are in custody, and their case will be heard on the 27 August 2024.
