Nelson Mandela Bay Metro said the reconstruction of severely damaged bridges in KwaNobuhle, is only 20% complete.
The structures were among those ravaged by the June 2024 floods. They are near Matanzima/Ponana and Nomekwezana Road intersections.
Work to reconstruct the bridges began on 12 May 2025, and completion is expected at the end of October 2025.
The City said thus far, 17% of the total project budget of + R83 million, was used.
Approximately 39 SMME contractors are set to benefit from an allocated R26 million of the total project amount.
