Things at the Nooitgedagt water plant in Gqeberha, have not moved an ounce, leaving parts of Gqeberha without water.
The Nelson Mandela Metro, said on Tuesday, highly turbid (muddy) raw water received from the Scheepersvlakte Balancing Dam, was caused by rainfall runoff from the upper reaches of the Darlington Dam.
The Municipality also said turbidity levels improved from over 400 NTU to an estimated 200 NTU, above the normal average of 100 NTU.
Two sedimentation lanes at the Works were taken out of operation to allow for desludging for two days.
Affected areas are the Chelsea Reservoir Zone, Baywest, Rowallan Park, Sherwood, Lorraine, Ben Kamma, Beverley Grove, Theesecombe / Lake Farm / Colleen Glen, Hunters Retreat, Kabega Park, Morningside, Linton Grange, Framesby, Malabar, Sunridge Park, Westering, Cotswold, Fernglen, Overbaakens, Charlo, Fairview, Broadwood, Miramar, Mount Pleasant, Providentia, Pari Park, Salisbury Park, Lovemore Heights, Sardinia Bay, Old Seaview Road and Deer Park.
