A cut off low pressure system landed on Tuesday, in the Eastern, Northern and Western Cape.
Meteorologists say the system is expected to make its way to the eastern and western interior by Wednesday morning.
Lehlohonolo Thobela, of the South African Weather Service (SAWS) warned against Orange level 8, of disruptive rainfall in the Eastern Cape, from this Tuesday until Thursday, on the South Coast.
Similar conditions (at Level 6) are expected in the central interior of the Western Cape (Level 2), Karoo Hoogland in the Northern Cape (Level 6) andย ย Level 8 for the Garden Route.
This is an equivalent of between 150 and 200 mm of rainfall.
Gale force winds of up to 50-60 kilometres per hour, are expected in the Eastern part of the Western Cape and the southern Namakwa, on Wednesday.
