The Cape Winelands District Municipality warns the public against hot weather conditions expected in the area on Monday, the 16th of February 2026.
Affected areas will be Drakenstein and Stellenbosch.
The Municipality said when temperatures are high, human ability to cool bodies is reduced.
Therefore, people are advised to avoid prolonged direct exposure to the sun to prevent a heat stroke.
The Municipality also encouraged drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated, to ensure animals have access to enough water, not to leave kids and the elderly in the car unattended.
