Phase 1 of the Klipdrift drinking water treatment plant, will officially supply parts of Hamaanskraal, subsequent to this weekend’s launch by Minister Pemmy Majodina and Deputy Ministers (David Mahlobo and Sello Seitlholo).
The R758 million plant, will supply water to parts of Mandela Village, Marokolong, Ramotse, Kekana Gardens, Kudube unit 9 and Babelegi Industrial and Bridgeview informal settlement.
Now upgraded, the plant can treat 12, 5 megalitres (ml) per day of water, bringing its total capacity to about 92ml each day.
In an update, the Department of Water and Sanitation, said the project will be implemented in four phases, scheduled for completion in 2025.
