The cause of an overnight explosion, in the Huguenot Tunnel on the N1, near Worcester, in the Western Cape, is still under investigation.
A bus exploded, caught fire, and filled the tunnel with smoke.
Emergency services on site, closed the tunnel temporarily to traffic, to extinguish the blaze, and assess the extent of the damage.
Authorities said they would continue to monitor the area.
