Eskom said Stage 2 loadshedding would continue into the night on Thursday, until 10pm.
Eskom also said it has restored about 1 175MW to the system, with an additional 1 850MW expected to return to service before Friday evening peak.
Daphne Mokoena, Eskom’s Spokesperson, said “these improvements contribute to overall system stability, supported by sufficient emergency reserves.”
