What we know of the Fika Patso Water Purification Plant in the Free State, is that the quality of work is acceptable and in compliance with the Department of Water and Sanitation(DWS)norms and other
Engineering standards.
This emerged at an Imbizo, when Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Ms Kekana, visited the Thabo Mofutsanyana District Imbizo last week.
Dr Ntili, Provincial Manager of the Department of Water Affairs and Sanitation, said the project has successfully met the objectives and the expectations of DWS and Vaal Central Water.
The project is currently at more than 90% towards completion. The completion date and commencement of operations at the plant will be announced.
The Fika Patso Dam, provides 85% of water to Qwaqwa residents and industries. It is currently at 65% full.
The Department said more rain is needed to fill the dam.
