Johannesburg Water said this morning, water in Fleurhof, is safe to drink.
The Water Board said subsequent to continous flushing, test results confirmed the water is safe to drink.
“The water supply will be gradually reopened through the reticulation system. Flushing is required to eliminate air from the pipelines, before the full water pressure is restored.”
Yesterday residents from Fleurhof took to social media platforms to vent about discoloured water. Joburg Water then said residents must not drink the water until test results of water samples taken yesterday are communicated.
Last week, the Joburg Council said it approved Joburg Water’s turnaround plan.
The plan includes fixing long-standing problems with water and sanitation services, including old infrastructure, financial and institutional problems.
