Some residents of Ekurhuleni took to social media to express dissatisfaction with water supply interruptions in the City.
Leroy Jooste expressed fear, that taps might run dry tomorrow.
Mohlala Msomi, said water tanks did not arrive in his area today.
The concerns are as a result of planned maintenance work that has another 15 hours to be realised.
Rand Water said its 50-hour planned maintenance in the area, at the Palmiet Booster Station began on 15 July 2024 and is anticipated to end on 17 July 2024.
Now with 15 more hours to go, pumping water continues at a reduced rate of 68% for the duration of the maintenance period.
The impact is felt in areas supplied by the Palmiet System: Klipriviersberg, Germiston, Meyershill, Airfield, Klipfontein, Brakfontein and Haartbeeshoek.
Rand Water said in a statement this afternoon, that some of these reservoirs are experiencing critically low levels, which might lead to low to no pressure in some areas, especially those in high lying sections.
Affected municipalities have reported that they have activated alternative water supply arrangements to the affected areas.
Earlier today, the Ekurhuleni Municipality said in an update, that maintenance on the RW Zuikerbosch will leave some areas with no water, especially those supplied by the Russell Rd and Primrose reservoirs, including Germiston, Primrose, Wadeville, Dinwiddie, Albermarle, and surrounding areas.
There is also no water in areas supplied by the Signal Hill reservoir, affecting Bedfordview, as well as in Palm Ridge Ext 2.
The Municipality said a roving water tanker was dispatched to assist.
