South African Weather Service (SAWS), has predicted extremely high fire danger conditions for the Northern Cape’s central and eastern areas, the north-western interior of the Eastern Cape, the Free State and North West as well as in the south-western Bushveld of Limpopo.
A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected in Gauteng, the western Bushveld of Limpopo, the southern and western Highveld of Mpumalanga, the central and eastern parts of the North West and the north-eastern parts of the Free State.
The heat wave is expected to last until Thursday, the 08th February 2024.
The wind along the coast in the Western Cape is expected to be moderate, until this afternoon when it becomes stronger along the south-west and western parts of the south coast.
