Kareeberg Municipality in the Northern Cape has no power supply.
This has also affected the town’s water supply.
Eskom said in a notice, the outage in Carnavon and surrounding areas, is due to structural damage on the Cuprum-Karoo 66kV line.
In addition, Farmers 1 and 2 as well as Square Kilometre Array (SKA) 22 Kv lines were also affected.
Technicians are on site despite harsh weather conditions to restore electricity supply.
