Residents in higher-lying areas of KwaNobuhle, Van Stadens Gorge, and surrounds, have little or no water.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro said on Monday, this is due to a fault identified on a chemical pump at the Loerie Water Treatment Works, which is currently affecting system performance.

Municipal teams are on site and actively working to resolve the issue.

As a result of a fault at the Chelsea plant, additional affected areas are Parts of Rowallan Park, Sherwood, Kabega Park, Morningside, Malabar and Barcelona.

The Municipality also said there is significant improvement at the Nooitgedagt Water Treatment Works (WTW), resulting in increased water production.

The plant currently produces and maintains an estimated 195 megalitres of water per day.
