The Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) announced the appointment of new commissioners, since its inception in 2020.

The multi-stakeholder body advises on South Africa’s climate change response measures, as well as the just transition development pathways and interventions to low-emissions, climate-resilient economy and society. 

Dorah Modise, the Executive Director of the PCC, said current commissioners ended on 31 December 2025, and the new ones are expected to serve for a period of five years from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2030 in terms of the Climate Change Act, 2024 (Act No. 22 of 2024).

They were appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
