There are heavy rains coupled with strong winds, and snow in some parts of the Cape today.
There are also numerous road closures due to flooding and fallen trees.
Informal settlements flooded are in Strand and Macassar.
The City of Cape Town, said in a statement, its City’s Informal Settlements Management branch, is providing assistance to affected residents.
Heavy rainfall in the Western Cape has led to road closures and mudslides on the N1.
Areas affected are:
• Bergrivier
• Breede Valley
• Cape Agulhas
• Langeberg
• Saldanha Bay
• Swartland
• Swellendam
• Wittenberg
Humanitarian aid organisation, Gift of the Givers teams are also assisting communities from flooded areas.
