Dams are quickly filling up in parts of the Eastern Cape. Gamtoos Water said the Kouga dam is 89.25% full, while the Loerdie dam has exceeded 100% to amount to 103.67%.

Rainfall was measured at Jeffreysbaai 200mm, Twinvalley 82 – 100mm, Matjiesfontein (Between Gamtoos and van Stadens)100mm+ and 75mm at Die Bult.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) said a severe cold front is expected to invade the Interior.

The front is expected to reach Gauteng on Monday.

The frosts are expected to spread into the southern half of Botswana during the night.

Snowfall is expected to begin over the highlands of South-Western Cape, spreading during the day across the Central Cape to Lesotho.

Rain and thunder will rapidly leave the eastern Interior and move to north-east KZN, where heavy thunderstorms are expected when the front reaches the warmer humid air at the coast (Swaicsa).

Heavy rains have led to flooding in parts of East London (Gonubie).

Flooding on the South Coast, in KwaZulu-Natal has affected some bridges, including the one between Port Shepstone and Umtentweni, another between Sea Park/Southport.
Areas in Margate are also flooded.

Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rains are expected to develop along the east coast of KZN as far north as Richards Bay tonight.
