The construction of the Sada Water Treatment Works Augmentation Project, in the Sada Township, has begun.
The township is in the Enoch Mgijima local municipality, part of the Chris Hani District, some 40 kilometers from Komani (formerly known as Queenstown) in the Eastern Cape.

Once completed, the Water Treatment Works will supply 22 million liters of water to the Sada Township, an increase of its current supply of 11 million litres.
Other areas to receive water from the plant are Whittlesea and Sada Prison.

Project details include the construction of a 12 mega-litre reservoir, an additional raw water reservoir; a dedicated line from Sada water works to a reservoir above Ekuphumleni and a 6-megalitre reservior located next to the Walter Sisulu University Campus.

The Executive Mayor, and an entourage of ward councillors from Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality, visited the site, on Tuesday.
