The Department of Water and Sanitation, has taken time to urge residents to use water sparingly.
This follows, a drop in water levels by margins, in most dams in Mpumalanga.
As of last Friday, the Department of Water and Sanitation, said last week, the level of water in the Kwena Dam, situated in the Crocodile River, went from about 82.1% down to 79.9%.
A weekly report compiled by the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), shows most of the listed dams in the Ehlanzeni District and the Lowveld, continue to decline.
This is true of the Blyderivierpoort Dam water levels, diving by more than 2%, from 79.0% to 76.6%.
Buffelskloof also went from 66.7% to 63.6%, Witklip from 83.8% to 82.1%.
Da Gama from 89.6% to 87.8%, Inyaka from 89.9% to 88.7%, Ohrigstad from 35.0% to 29.9%, Nooitgedacht from 79.8% to 79.2% and Vygeboom from 98.1% to 96.9%.
Dams with relatively constant levels of water, are Driekoppies dam at 92.7%, Longmere at 91.1%, Klipkopjes at 85.4% and Primkop at 50.8%.
This brings the amount of water levels to about 86.0% to 85.1%.
Levels of water in the Olifants Water Management Areas (WMA), also dropped by a fraction, from 78.0% to 77.0%, while those in the Inkomati-Usuthu WMA, dropped from 87.5% to 87.0%.
In terms ofthe districts, Ehlanzeni dropped from 86.5% to 85.4%, Gert Sibande dropped from
83.9% to 83.4%, and Nkangala dropped from 89.1% to 87.7%.
