uMngeni-uThukela Water has postponed a 12-hour shutdown of its Lower UThukela Water Treatment Works, scheduled for Tuesday, 1 October 2024, due to inclement weather.
The shutdown is to mainly to replace a malfunctioning isolation valve and to also scour a pipeline.
The uMngeni-uThukela Water Board, said a new date for the shutdown, is now Thursday, 3 October 2024.
The shutdown is expected to kickoff at 8am, until 06h00 until 18h00.
Areas to be affected by Thursday’s shutdown are areas mainly in the Ilembe District, including Zinkwazi, San Sounci, Darnall, Lindelani, Nonoti, Blythedale, Saunders Reservoir, Glenhills, Warrenton, Stanger Manor, High Ridge, Shakaville, Townview, Mbozamo, Honolulu Reservoir and Groutville, Ntshawini, Melville.
