Water quality has taken centre stage again in Hammanskraal.
This time, the City of Tshwane has temporarily closed the Themba Water Treatment Plant. The City said this is a precautionary measure, to protect public health.
Turns out a sewer discharge was detected flowing into the Apies River, which feeds the Leeukraal Dam.
The dam supplied water to Themba, Dilopye, Hammanskraal West, Suurman, Lepheng, Sekampaneng, Majaneng and Refentse.
It is not clear when water supply will resume.
