A shortage of water supply in the central and South of eThekwini, was caused by a leak at one of the pipes feeding the Woodlands 3&4 reservoir.
eThekwini’s Vukani Mbhele, said the City’s Water Service Directorate team, was on site on Sunday, to isolate and repair the main pipeline.
“During this process, water supply to the Woodlands 3&4 reservoir will be severely constrained which will affect supply to downstream dependent reservoirs and supply zones” said Mbhele.
Repair work is expected to be completed on Monday morning, 13 October, but the recovery of the system, will take up to five days.
