The planned water shutdown of the South Coast Augmentation (SCA) Pipeline and Booster Pump Station, kicks off early on Thursday morning.

The eThekwini Municipality said this is due to maintenance work on the system, from 8am until 8pm.

During this time, there will be a reinstallation of Pump 2 and its associated components, as well as testing and recommissioning the system.

The City said it expects the southern system, Amanzimtoti Water Works and Quarry Reservoir to recover first, before downstream reservoirs.
