Floods have displaced some 3,700 people in Gugulethu, Mfuleni, Khayelitsha, Du Noon and Athlone, on Saturday, following heavy downpours.
Gift of the Givers said on Saturday, it has served about 30,000 residents across various informal settlements, since last week, in the Cape Flats including Nyanga, Philippi, Philippi East, Heideveld, Chris Nissan Park, Nomzamo, Lwandle, Valhalla Park and Mfuleni.
Heavy rains have also affected various services including power supply and roads.
There is a reported power outage in Langa, Athlone and Rondebosch.
Roads closed are the Borchards Quarry, Bonnievale, Slanghoek.
The Cederberg Municipality, also announced the closure of the road to Algeria (ward 6) from the N7, as a result of rains.
Motorists are urged to use alternative routes from Clanwilliam or Citrusdal.
The Salvation Army, is among organisations assisting on the ground.
Alan Winde, Premier of the Western Cape, urged people to stay away from low-lying bridges and also said the Berg River Dam is currently at 96% full.
The Cape of Good Hope SPCA, said its teams are on the ground in Khayelitsha, Macassar, Athlone, Bridgetown, Silvertown, and Vygieskraal, uplifting animals without shelter, checking on the welfare of horses and farm animals, and moving those on the flood plain to higher ground.
