It’s pouring buckets in parts of Johannesburg on Tuesday evening, the 11th February 2025.
But even heavy rain has not yet made a difference to the system.
In fact, Johannesburg Water announced this evening, that there are various network challenges.
The local power utility said the power outage in Emfuleni has worsened the situation, by disrupting pumping of water from Rand Water’s Forest Hill and Eikenhof systems.
Water in towers and reservoirs is extremely low.
As a result, JW has asked residents to reduce consumption where possible.
The system shows high demand from the Brixton reservoir, the Brixton Tower, Hursthill 2 Reservoir, the Aeroton Tower, Berea, Crown Gardens, Yeoville, Parktown 2, South Hills Tower, the Deep South systems (Orange Farm, Ennerdale, Lawley, Lenasia Hospital Hill and the Lenasia High Level Reservoir).
