Big Trees in Limpopo are now recorded in the Guinness World Records.
The Sagole Big tree, is recorded as the largest Boabab in the world.
The tree is located in Masisi, Vhembe, close to the Zimbabwean border.
The base of the Sagole tree covers 652, 3 square feet, it is 19,8 meters long, and has a bark volume of 414 square meters.
The tree is estimated to be about 800 years old, with the oldest boabab, recorded in neighbouring Namibia (1,200).
The Magoebaskloof Triplets, located in the forests of Limpopo, also made it on the world’s list.
These three giant Eucalyptus saligna (Sydney blue gum), were last measured in 2013, and they reached 81,5 meters high.
A fourth tree closeby measured, even more, at 83,7 meters.
