Mamelodi Water Supply Update
Residents took to social media concerns about no water for days.
Julia Tshehla took to popular Facebook page, Mamelodi News, concerned about lack of water supply for 4 days.
The City of Tshwane acknowledged water supply interruptions in Mamelodi due to critically low reservoir levels (R3 and R4).
Over the weekend, the City said it observed a “relatively acceptable improvement” on R3 reservoir over the past 2 days.
R4 reservoir is “unstable.”
The City resorted to reduce water supply due to high demand over the weekend.
Residents are urged to practice responsible water usage as the city while the City works on what it calls a Reservoir Recovery Pan.

Eskom said it is working on restoring electricity supply in parts of Soweto.
These areas include Dube, Klipspruit, Mofolo, Pimville Zones 5 & 6.
Areas experienced an electricity outage. Eskom could not confirm the exact date and time for the restoration of electricity.

Service delivery protests
Some residents of Phoenix are calling for the eThekwini Municipality, to respond to its demands, related to water interruptions and electricity faults.
An organization calling itself the Voice of Phoenix, is handing over a Memorandum with demands, subsequent to receiving 3,312 signatures from residents.
Protesters have blocked several intersections around Phoenix.
