Residents ofJohannesburg have interrupted water supply.
An update from Johannesburg Water, said yesterday afternoon, that at least three reservoirs in the City are low. The Doornkop reservoir is critically low. Other struggling reservoirs are in Crosby and Alexander Park.

Johannesburg Water said it would close reservoirs last night to allow them to build capacity for today.

Meanwhile, the water utility has asked users to use water sparingly, including those in Jabulani, Doornkop West, Protea Glen, parts of Meadowlands and Zondi, Brixton, Hursthill 2 and Alexandra Park.

The City of Johannesburg has implemented level water restrictions until the end of next month (31st March 2024).
The use of hosepipes, between 6am and 6pm, is prohibited for watering gardens, washing cars, cleaning driveways and filing up water features and swimming pools.
