uMngeni Water Board said the failure of a backup generator at Ludeke caused interruptions in the supply of water in Mbizana.
The Water Board said raw water supply to the Nomlacu Water Treatment Works was interrupted yesterday, the 09th December 2024.
The generator supplies power to the Ludeke Dam Raw Water Pump Station. which pumps water supply to parts of Mbizana.
The generator is part of a system supporting the electrical transformer to the Ludeke Dam Raw Water Pump Station, which had to be out, due to repairs.
It is expected to be reinstalled next weekend.
