The Schools Reinventing Tshwane challenge was launched on Saturday, at Irene Primary School.

The competition plans to encourage schools to be part of developing solutions to climate change challenges.

Nasiphi Moya, Executive Mayor of Tshwane, said Schools from Tshwane will be invited to design concepts and tangible solutions on the Minecraft Education Platform, by virtually turning Church Square into a more sustainable and resilient urban area, that promotes mobility and urban nature.

The City initiated it with C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40), Minecraft, Education, and the Gauteng Department of Education.
