While some areas are recovering from Rand Water’s maintenance of the Palmiet Booster system, other reservoirs are at critically low levels.
These include Klipriviersberg, Germiston, Meyershill, Airfield, Klipfontein, Brakfontein and Haartbeeshoek, Rand Water said in a statement this week.
This has led to low pressure in some areas, and no water supply in others.
Rand Water said affected Municipalities, have implemented alternative measures.
To add insult to injury, the water Utility has illustrated through its weekly graphs yesterday, that the storage of water it pumps from multiple reservoirs to Municipalities is low.
The red line in the graph, is a function of high water consumption.
The Blue line in the graph shows the consumption patterns/trends (up and down the red line) of the Metros.
When the Blue line falls below the Red line, it means the Metro is managing its water consumption effectively within the water use licence agreement with Rand Water.
However, when the Blue line is above the Red line, it means the Metro is consuming more water than agreed upon with Rand Water, as in the case of Ekurhuleni.
