Authorities in Tshwane have partnered with the South African Revenue Services (SARS), in a bid to enforce the City’s bylaws.

This week, the City’s senior management met up with Patrick Moeng- Chairperson of the Inter-Agency Working Group on illicit trade.

In a statement, Nasiphi Moya, the City’s Mayor, said “we welcome SARS as a partner to the administration’s commitment, to deal with illegal business. Hundreds of operations have been conducted, in the past nine months, by the Tshwane Metro Police Department in collaboration with the police (SAPS), the Department of Home Affairs and the Gauteng Department of Community Safety.”

She also said there was a crack down on an illegal paraffin distribution centre in Mamelodi, last week.
